Set in a tranquil room, amidst a garden looking out to sea, we welcome you to step off the world for a relaxing, restorative treatment.
We understand that a visit to Back in Balance should be a retreat from daily stresses and a calming, replenishing experience. You may choose a relaxation massage, using Swedish massage techniques to soothe your cares away. Or Jin Shin Jyutsu, an ancient Japanese art of deep relaxation, to harmonise energy flows – leaving you to float in a sea of bliss. Or a combination of both. We trust that when you leave you will feel pampered, energised and ‘back in balance’.
Massage Therapy
Relax, unwind and feel the tension slip away as you are massaged with a choice of aromatherapy oils. A qualified masseuse, using Swedish massage techniques will soothe away aches and pains, reducing effects of stress, anxiety and trauma, to improve your general health and wellbeing.
Jin Shin Jyutsu
This deeply relaxing, gentle therapy is the perfect way to restore energy flows. Quite simply, Jin Shin Jyutsu is a way to balance our life energy and achieve optimum health. Harmonising energy flows results in emotional equilibrium, pain relief and release of the cause of both acute and chronic conditions.
About Me - Carlene Dillimore
Carlene’s love of holistic therapies has come from a lifetime of a deep interest in sport. She has successfully represented New Zealand in the Commonwealth Games in track running and her childhood was influenced by her mother’s love of competitive sports. Her mother also represented New Zealand in the Olympic Games and Carlene’s sister represented New Zealand in the Silver Ferns.
From intense family involvement in sport at a high level comes a deep understanding of how the body works holistically, which she shares with visitors to her Waihi Beach clinic in the Western Bay of plenty.
“Being greeted by Carlene’s beautiful smile and heart warming hug immediately lifts your spirit. Her treatment room is thoughtfully presented and full of ambience. Carlene is most professional throughout her treatment and is skilled at finding and relaxing problematic muscles, leaving the body rejuvenated.”
