Carlene Dillimore
Carlene’s love of holistic therapies has evolved out of her family’s multi-generational interest and participation in competitive sport.
Carlene competed in track and represented New Zealand in the Commonwealth Games. Her mother, Valerie, represented New Zealand in track at the Rome Olympic Games (as a 16 year old!) and sister Robyn played representative netball for the New Zealand Silver Ferns. Carlene’s two sons have also played competitive basketball and rugby.
Out of this commitment to high level sport, came a fascination with what our bodies need to perform at optimum levels. A key learning for Carlene was that a holistic approach was necessary to ensure both body and mind were given the nurturing and nutrients required to compete at an international level. Carlene’s training programme reflected this - with her physical workouts and dietary plans complimented by regular massages, meditation and stretching.
After her retirement from competitive sport, Carlene continued to be interested in holistic wellness and was eager to use the knowledge gained from her time competing to help others. Carlene has pursued further study in order to do this – training with the New Zealand College of Massage to become a qualified Relaxation Massage Therapist and also qualifying as a Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner.
Carlene brings a deep sense of empathy and kindness to her natural therapies practice - which she operates from a studio overlooking beautiful Waihi Beach, in the Western Bay of Plenty.

“Each time I visit Carlene’s studio, I am able to relax and surrender to the process and always feel a shift in my body’s energy levels which then continues beyond the session.
Carlene has also helped me to practise and use the subtle and gentle techniques of Jin Shin Jyutsu as regular part of my daily self-care and wellness routines. Thank you Carlene for sharing this amazing healing work.”
